M/Y Otac Roko is type of vessel named "štilac“...

M/Y Otac Roko is type of vessel named "štilac“ ship of recent times, namely of the 19th century, is welcomed by a large number of boat builders. It is built along the east coast of the Adriatic Sea to transport a wide variety of products linking the islands to the mainland. To explain and present this simple design, between the coastal people there is “a deep rooted” expression for the construction of the ship - well done. This ship can be from 15 to 17 meters long.

Štilac still sails today, obviously with an engine and without sails and is used for the transport of passengers and for the extraction and transport of marine sands. The keel and the posts are made of solid walnut wood, like all the elements of the deck and sides. The sails are embroidered on the cloth. M/Y Otac Roko was built 1939. in Slatine, Trogir as transport ship for wine and its name was „St. Yoseph“. Komiža for family Andrijolić. First 10 years it was powered only by force of wind - first engine was built at the beginning of 1950's.

In World War II, ship sailed under various flags – 1941-1943. Italian, 1943-1944 German and at the end of WW II served in Partisan's army as a supply vessel from Pula to Trieste. Next 40 years "Otac Roko" sailed between Dalmatian ports and islands as a merchant ship. The authorities changed his name for political reasons, the "Otac Roko", but the choice of name shows respect for the original owners since the Roko was one of the brothers Andrijolić.

At the sixties Andrijolić brothers purchased the boat and continue to work. The boat was used to supply the island of transporting products to the market towns of the island on the coast and vice versa.
